Position Details:

Title: Instrumentation and Electrical Technician

Location: Houston, TX

Shift: Monday - Friday - 6:00am - 4:30 - 6:00pm (depending on shop needs)

Saturday 6:00am - 2:30pm

Compensation: $28 - $38/hour (depending on experience) + overtime

Travel: up to 50% travel to customer sites (a company vehicle will be provided)

Position Description - Instrumentation and Electrical Technician

The I&E Technician modifies, repairs, or overhauls electronic and electrical equipment and controls while applying knowledge of electronics principles to determine equipment malfunctions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Troubleshoot electrical systems: 480v power distribution, 24vdc control systems.
Work on PLCs.
Wire 3 phase motors and run insulation tests on motors.
Work on and program VFDs.
Run wire and terminate.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate possesses 3 or more years of work experience involved in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of instrumentation, electrical and control systems in an industrial setting.

Strong understanding of electrical systems, including AC/DC circuits, motor controls, and electrical troubleshooting.
Skilled in the use of test equipment for the detection and repair of faulty instrument and control devices.
Skilled in interpreting and following technical instruction furnished in oral, written, diagrammatic and schedule form.
Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical diagrams, technical manuals and logic diagrams.
Skilled in performing mathematical calculations to analyze and solve problems related to control process.
Skilled in the use of personal computers, test gauges, digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and specialized test equipment such as manometers, potentiometers, conductivity bridges and signal generators and various hand tools.
Variable frequency drive (VFD) experience.
Knowledge of NEC code.
Valid Driver's license.
Associates degree or technical degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering a BONUS.
Journeyman electrical license a BONUS.
