Job Description:
**Job Summary: Nuclear Medicine Technologist II**
Responsible for completing complex nuclear medicine procedures,
mentoring junior staff, and providing exceptional patient care in a
dynamic team environment.
**Job Description:**
At Houston Methodist, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist II position
is a key member of the direct patient care team, responsible for
completing a variety of routine to complex nuclear medicine
procedures of high difficulty. This position serves as a mentor to
Nuclear Medicine Technologist I and students, utilizing skills and
knowledge to help train and educate others.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Completes complex nuclear medicine procedures with high accuracy
and attention to detail
* Mentors junior staff and students, providing guidance and support
to ensure their success
* Provides exceptional patient care, adhering to radiation
standards and guidelines established by governing agencies
* Collaborates with the patient care team to ensure seamless
communication and coordination of care
* Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance
patient care and safety
**Requirements:**
* Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing
body for the required credential(s)
* Three years' experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
* Possesses a strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles
and procedures
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
**Certifications and Licenses:**
* BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
* CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State
Licensure
* ARRT-N - Radiologic Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Tech
(ARRT)
* CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB)
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
* Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely
perform the assigned job
* Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the
English language
* Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians,
family members, and co-workers
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Possesses basic computer knowledge and operates multiple computer
systems
